30 Weeks Pregnant

How far along? 30 Weeks (completed 7/26/14)

Another lazy photo day. What can I say, it was late and I was ready for bed. Don't judge me, haha!
Shirt: Target (Maternity Section)  Pants: Macys (Non-Maternity)

Total weight gain: Up 1 lb this week. That makes a total of 28lbs gained thus far.

Maternity/baby clothes: Nadda

Stretch marks? Nothing new, also nothing really going away. But of course, I don't really expect that to happen. Just in my dreams :)

Sleep: Another not so great week of sleeping, but better than last week at least! On Tuesday night I woke up with the worst Acid Reflux I've had yet. It just would not go away, and I of course couldn't lay down. So I went out to the living room and browsed the web and stuff for a good 2+ hours in the middle of the night. I heard drinking milk can help, so I did that and it did seem to calm it enough to the point that I could lay back down (head elevated slightly). Other than that long night, the other nights were just typical nights of being uncomfortable and waking a lot to use the restroom.

Best moment this week: We had a doctors appointment this week! It went well, short and sweet. No u/s of course, but getting to hear our little girls heart beat is always fun too :) Other than that, nothing too exciting. I mean, we did register at one store... but I wouldn't call that our best moment by any means. I'm surprised how boring it actually was. I just don't know what we need or what to expect, so it's hard to get excited about registering for baby bottles and what not.

One thing I do always love during our weeks, is that we usually fit games in there somewhere. The hubby and I love to play games! Board games, card games, really any kind of game. Sometimes playing games is harder than it should be though...

There seems to be the most adorable kitty that likes to play the games with us, however, she doesn't follow the rules very well. I love these kinds of moments! :)

Miss anything? I miss being able to bend over and move around easily. This week things seem to have gotten even harder. I'm not going to lie, it's getting difficult to do the 'paperwork' in the restroom. And I mean really, at dr appointments they want us to pee in a cup EVERY time? This task is becoming harder and harder the bigger my belly gets! Only 10 more weeks....

Movement: Yes! Remember that night I was up with Acid Reflux really bad? Well, had I been more appropriately dressed and had my phone with me, I would've taken video of my belly moving. Because seriously, that little girl was going berserk! She had so much energy, it was cracking me up. Good week overall as far as movements went!

Food cravings:
Nadda

Anything making you queasy or sick? Not this week!

Gender: Girl!

Symptoms:
congestion
acid reflux
dry skin
leg cramps
swollen feet/ankles
back pain
hip pain
itchy abdomen

snorting
(My husband still gets a kick out of this. He usually laughs at me, which makes me laugh harder, which of course makes me snort more.)

Belly button in or out? Still in!

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or moody most of the time? Happy!

Had to post this just because she is so silly, and makes me happy! Yes, I am a crazy cat lady (with just one cat).
Looking forward to: Painting the nursery! It IS happening next week! Don't worry, I'll have photos!

29 Weeks Pregnant

How far along? 29 Weeks (completed 7/19/14)
Leggings & Top: Target (non-maternity)

Total weight gain: Another huge weight gain week... Oops! Maybe I should actually start working out some huh? Wish it wasn't so hot outside so I could take walks without sweating to death! Up 2lbs this week. So that makes 27lbs gained total.

Maternity/baby clothes: Nadda

Stretch marks? A few more new ones on my tummy. They are pretty subtle as of right now, but I'm sure they'll worsen like my legs did. Or maybe I'll get lucky and they won't! Haha.... I hope ;)

Sleep: Oh my gosh... this week was HORRIBLE for sleep. Let's start with Sunday night (the first night). I woke up so sick in the middle of the night. It felt a lot like food poisoning or something but I hadn't eaten anything bad or anything my husband didn't eat (and he didn't get sick). Anyhow, I was up for over an hour, and by the end of that I got really severe chest pain. That really freaked me out! It wasn't a sharp pain, but a dull pressure like pain in the middle of my chest. No bueno. Needless to say, I went back to bed bawling eventually but at least I didn't wake up my hubby with all my loud crying! He couldn't have done anything to help, so I would've felt terrible to keep him up for no reason. Another horrible night was Tuesday. Oh man, I couldn't sleep for the life of me. My hips hurt so incredibly bad, I just couldn't handle laying on either side. It felt as though I had been sleeping on cement with a 10lb weight resting on my other hip pushing me down. I do not enjoy that feeling. That one comes and goes throughout the weeks though, so it's not the first time the hip pain has come around at night. That night was just particularly bad. Every other night of the week was not so great, but at least they were slightly better than Sunday and Tuesday right? Gotta try and look at the positive side here.

Best moment this week:
Not a very eventful week by any means, but we did get to go on a short little getaway at the end of the week. We stayed up at Wolf Creek for a couple nights with some of my family. We just relaxed, played games, went swimming, you know... usual lazy weekend things. The only picture I took the whole weekend was of a hot air balloon I saw. Random, I know, but I love hot air balloons.

Miss anything? Non-swollen feet! I honestly can't remember what my feet used to look like. They are ALWAYS swollen.

Movement: Yes! She was pretty calm all day Monday, but was back to her usual active self the rest of the week. Also, I've realized what a new movement I started feeling last week is... it's the hiccups! Its only happened a few times, but I just realized that's what it has got to be, and I love it!

Food cravings:
Nadda

Anything making you queasy or sick? Not this week!

Gender: Girl!

Symptoms: Let's list them this week, k? I feel like changing things up a tiny bit here. So...
congestion
acid reflux
dry skin
leg cramps
swollen feet/ankles
back pain
hip pain
NEW ONES:
itchy abdomen
(I'm assuming from the stretch marks)

snorting
(what? Haha! My husband pointed out and loves the fact that I snort when I laugh now. I don't know why I do, but it's true. I am now a snorter. I wonder if it'll go away once this little one is born!?)

Belly button in or out? Still in, but definitely still getting shallower.

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or moody most of the time? Moody. I think I was more moody this week from all the horrible sleep and lack there of that I got.

Looking forward to: Our next appt! It's next week. Can't believe we're already to the point that our visits are every 2 weeks instead of every month. It's just crazy how quickly time flies.

28 Weeks Pregnant

How far along? 28 Weeks (completed 7/12/14)
First week of the 3rd Trimester... can you believe it!?

Shorts & Shirt: Motherhood Maternity

Total weight gain: I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little afraid to admit my weight gain this week. 3lbs people, 3 L B S! That is a lot for one week. Can we just pretend it was all baby? Haha jk... she'd be huge if she gained that much in one week. Oh well, at least I ate well right ;)
So, I'm up a total of 25lbs.

Maternity/baby clothes: Boring... nothing new again this week.

Stretch marks? I was right, unfortunately. I've started getting the marks on my tummy. Though I have to admit, it took them longer to show up there than I expected, so there is my silver lining.

Sleep: Average. Nothing great, nothing terrible. I'll take it!

Best moment this week:
Three great days this week! First, our doctor's appointment on Monday. They finally got a good shot of baby's face, and all is good. However, now we don't get another ultra sound for far too long. She should've hid just one more time!

Second, was Johns actual birthday! It landed in the middle of the week so we didn't do much, but it was fun to celebrate with him. In the morning I snuck into his office while he was out and decorated it just a little and left a card and some treats. Then that night I took him out to Rodizio Grill. We were sooo stuffed after (maybe that's where the 3lbs came from! haha) that we just went home after and hung out. We were both feeling the food coma.
Happy Birthday Babe!

Lastly, was Johns surprise birthday dinner on Saturday night, followed by a previously planned (non-birthday related) bonfire. Unfortunately, I forgot to get a picture of everyone that came for his bday dinner. But thanks to all that were there! He loved it! I had to be sneaky that whole day to make sure we were in the area and ready to eat at the right time. I convinced him to wait, because he was starving, and then I chose where to go. But by that time he was hungry enough that he didn't really care where we went I think. Anyhow, we showed up to Chilis and the host asked how many, John replied with 2 and I interrupted with 10. He was so confused, surprised, and happy! Our friends came very shortly after and joined us for the fun.

After dinner, we headed out to 5 Mile Pass to have a bonfire.
John & my brother Alexander getting the wood ready for a fire.
Before the flames ensued...
The fire ablaze!

While the boys were getting the fire going, the girls were doing what we do best... taking pictures and having fun of course!

Eventually we all got around to actually sitting somewhat near the fire... it was too hot to be too close.

I didn't get John a cake on his actual birthday, because I figured it'd be more fun to celebrate with company. So I made a cake for the bonfire. We sang and made him blow out the candles. I know, my cake decorating skills are pro! Haha, jk... I just didn't go all out since I knew I'd have to frost it while we were out there and what not. Couldn't have the frosting and stuff melting in the heat before it was time to sing.

What did you wish for John!?

Happy 32nd Birthday to this guy!

Now... back to the pregnancy stuff ;)

Miss anything? Honestly? I miss feeling confident and attractive. I mean, I wasn't always the most confident person before anyway, but now... Eek! I feel bad, I should be more confident for the hubby, but it's hard when your body has changed so much! It'll be an ongoing battle during the pregnancy I'm sure.
Movement: Yes indeed! That little girl loves to move. I saw the most prominent movement later in the week. It looked as if she just took an elbow and pushed really hard and dragged it across my tummy. Wish I could've caught it on camera!

Food cravings:
Nadda

Anything making you queasy or sick? Not this week!

Gender: Girl!

Symptoms: Nothing new this week. Just the usual's: congestion, acid reflux (this is getting bad, it is now waking me up from a dead sleep and I have to sit up quick so I don't throw up... yum :P), dry skin, leg cramps, swollen feet/ankles, etc.

Belly button in or out? Still in!

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or moody most of the time? Happy! It was such a good week.

Looking forward to: The last few weeks of working by myself in my office. I will start training the new girl in just a few weeks. Can't believe it's getting so close!

BONUS: For your viewing pleasure... a photo comparison of where I was 3 years ago vs today. Why you ask? Because Ashley couldn't help but make me take this picture. Yes, we are that silly still :)

Photo Credit: Ashley Shippen, via her Iphone...
So you can only imagine what she can do with her real camera. Yes, she is a photographer, and yes, she is awesome! Check her out here: http://ashleyelizaphotography.blogspot.com/

All photos (except the Rodizio selfie) were taken by her this week. Thanks Ash for always being on photo duty. You're the best!

27 Weeks Pregnant

How far along? 27 Weeks (completed 7/5/14)

Shorts: Motherhood Maternity   Shirt: Ross (Maternity Section)
I know, I look way bigger this week, right? Well, side note, I had just eaten a huge dinner. I was so over indulged during this picture, it may have added an inch or two. Or... maybe I really was just that much bigger this week? It felt more like an overstuffed belly to me though!

Total weight gain: Held steady this week at the same weight, so I'm still up 22lbs total.

Maternity/baby clothes: Nothing new this week. I need to start getting my registry put together though. However, I just have no idea what to put on it! Time to do some research.

Stretch marks? Nothing new officially, however it does look like I might be getting them on my tummy really soon.

Sleep: Not too bad this week. Some uncomfortable nights, but I think I slept better this week for sure. Well, I did at least until the weekend. We were up at the cabin over the weekend and the beds aren't the most comfortable thing compared to ours. I just love memory foam too much :)

Best moment this week: The long 4th of July weekend!

We left on Thursday to head up to Park City for fireworks (Yes, they had them on the 3rd instead of the 4th... weird). Then we stayed the rest of the weekend at Johns family cabin. Just the two of us! It was a lot of fun.

Our cat didn't want us to leave for the long weekend. She crawled into Johns bag while we were packing and refused to get out. Isn't she the cutest?

We went for a little walk to kill time before the fireworks started. The sunset was beautiful, and the mountains... always majestic. I love Utah!

A view from the deck on the cabin. We love morning chats on the deck :)

We mostly just relaxed at the cabin this weekend, so I took almost no pictures. It would've been a lot of pictures of us in our pajamas taking naps, playing games, and watching movies, however, we did take a couple of walks too so we could enjoy the fresh mountain air.

Miss anything? Can't think of much that I missed this week.

Movement: Yes! She was consistently moving around this week. The best day though was over the weekend at the cabin she was going crazy and making some really huge movements. We just watched my belly move around and you could tell she was moving from one side to another, it looked like waves going across my tummy. So cute! John absolutely loved it.

Food cravings:
Nothing

Anything making you queasy or sick? Not this week!

Gender: Girl!

Symptoms: No rib pain this week! So that was nice, but all the usual's stuck around: congestion (minimal at this point), acid reflux, dry skin (this one is getting worse), leg cramps, swollen feet/ankles, etc.

Belly button in or out? In. I think it is getting a little more shallow now though. Could pop any day, but lets hope it doesn't.

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or moody most of the time? Mostly happy again, but maybe a bit of hormones creeping in there.

Looking forward to: Our next baby appointment which is next week! We get to do another ultrasound :)

26 Weeks Pregnant

How far along? 26 Weeks (completed 6/28/14)

Jeans: Motherhood Maternity   Shirt: Motherhood Maternity
Kissa decided to make an appearance in my photos again this week. Okay, so by decided I mean she walked past and I picked her up. She loves me ;) haha

Total weight gain: Up another 2lbs this week, so that brings me to a total of 22lbs gained.

Maternity/baby clothes: No new clothes, but we did make a baby purchase this week! Check it out:
Purchased from Babys R Us
This is the one item we will be purchasing really before any baby showers. Simply because we would never expect anyone to spend that kind of money on us. Also, we got it this month because we got 4x the rewards points from our bank on all purchases for June. What can I say, we love rewards! Deciding on a car seat and stroller was not an easy choice. As a new parent, you really don't know what you're going to like or need. Also, you can get advice from everyone and anyone, but it will of course all be different. Everyone has different preferences, so we just went with what we hope will be best for our family. We'll find out if we made the right choice when baby makes her grand entrance.

Stretch marks? Nothing new this week.

Sleep: A solid mix of complete and udder uncomfortableness with nights of pure comfort. So I guess it wasn't all bad this week. I really enjoyed the nights that I actually got some sleep (aside from waking up to use the bathroom a million times). I think I slept through my husbands alarm most mornings. Hoping the sleep gets even better next week.

Best moment this week: All her moving around! More on that in a minute...

Miss anything? Just being able to move around easier. I honestly can't even imagine how much worse it's going to get over the next 3 months. How do women do this!? My belly is so big already!

Movement: YES!! Thank goodnes! After all the worrying from last week, it was so so great to have her move so much this week. I loved every kick and roll. It really just puts a smile on my face when I know she's being active. She was kicking and/or poking me in the weirdest places this week too. First, she was really high up compared to normal. Then she was way way far off to my right side, those movements were the weirdest feeling. She is rarely over to my left as of right now. It is getting a lot more noticeable what kind of movements she is making now too. I mean, I can't tell if it's a hand or a foot yet, but I can definitely tell a difference between kicks/punches and rolls or general body movements. John felt her a lot this Saturday night too. We were watching a movie with some friends and she was just going crazy! It was the best :)

Anything making you queasy or sick? Not this week!

Gender: Girl!
Just had to throw in this funny picture of our cat. I was in the nursery reading, and I kept hearing noises coming from the giant stack of baby things that we have (a lot of which was free from my brother and sister-in-law, thank you!). Anyway, so I go over to find out what our sneaky little kitty is doing, and I just see this head popping out from the middle of it all. She kills me, just too cute and silly.

Labor signs:
None

Symptoms: Let's start this off with some new ones for the week shall we? First, can we talk about rib pain? Because O M G! Remember how I told you she was a lot higher up than usual? Yeah, that = rib pain, and a lot of it. On Tuesday I woke up and literally thought I had somehow bruised a rib while sleeping. It hurt so bad, I couldn't breath without it increasing the pain level. Not a fun day, not a fun day at all. So that continued on til Thursday, mixed in with a lot more back pain as well. Also, swollen feet... and ankles... and legs. I'm not fond of the swelling, but I guess that just comes along with the fact that it's summer and sweltering hot outside. Thankfully however, my hands only swell here and there. I've been successful at getting my ring on and off everyday, but that might be because I keep our A/C on so high at home. My husband says he lives in a refrigerator. Okay, last new (and kind of old) symptom, it's been a few months but my sciatic nerve pain is coming back, so that's, you know... awesome. And on to the typical symptoms that are sticking around: congestion, acid reflux, dry skin, leg cramps, etc.

Belly button in or out? In (I'm still surprised and happy about this!)

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or moody most of the time? Mostly happy? Haha, I definitely had my moody/irritable days. Especially with the rib pain this week. That first day was just a bad day.

Looking forward to: Picking out paint colors for the nursery! I keep going back and forth on ideas, but hopefully we can narrow it down this next week when we have a little extra time. Also, the 4th of July! Should be much better this year, whereas last year I was sick and in bed at 8pm. I'm excited to see some fireworks! :)
